Formula, assumptions and check example
A transparent heuristic score estimates MOQ pressure from yarn route, color count, size count, construction complexity and certification needs.
Calculation logic
- Pressure points are added for custom/special yarn, more colors, more sizes, higher complexity and certification. Scores 0–2, 3–5 and 6+ map to low/medium, medium and high bands.
Assumptions and limits
- Output bands are internal sourcing heuristics, not supplier quotations or guaranteed minimums.
- Machine availability, dyeing minimums, raw-material packages and commercial terms can override the band.

Knitwear using stock yarn, three colors, four sizes and balanced complexity scores 1 and returns the 100–300 pieces per style planning band.
