Formula, assumptions and check example
The tool applies each entered fiber percentage to the total yarn quantity and shows any unallocated balance as ‘other.’
Calculation logic
- fiber kg = total yarn kg × fiber percentage ÷ 100; other % = max(100 − entered percentage total, 0).
Assumptions and limits
- Percentages are mass percentages for planning only.
- A total above 100% is flagged and should be corrected before the result is used.
Worked check
For 120 kg at 10% cashmere, 70% wool and 20% silk, the split is 12 kg, 84 kg and 24 kg respectively.
